The Best Summer Activity in Southern Ohio
August may be here, but summer isn’t quite over yet! There’s still plenty of time to soak up the sun and enjoy the rest of the sunny days. this season. What is Land of Illusion?
If you’re unfamiliar with what Land of Illusion is, it’s an outdoor adventure park located in Middletown, Ohio. Depending on the time of year, you’ll be able to visit for the perfect seasonal activity- whether it’s the haunted Scream Park in the Fall, Holiday Glow in the Winter, and Aqua Adventures in the summer.
What Can you Do at Aqua Adventures?
There’s a reason why I think the best summer activity in Southern Ohio is the Aqua Adventures park! First, you’ll find a beautiful beach with plenty of chairs to lay out on. You can even rent out cute little cabanas to get some shade in. Aside from swimming and enjoying the beach, you can also have a blast on the obstacle course! It’s the largest inflatable obstacle course in the Midwest, with over 100 floating obstacles to make your way through. Some fun ones include a banana-style boat to rock back and forth on with friends, monkey bars, slides, and very tall jumping pads. You can also visit the Racing Gators- a 150 foot racing water slide! This was one of my favorite parts of the park because it was so fast! It was such a fun thrill.
Aside from the obstacle course, you can also relax on an inner tube or go paddle-boarding, or just swim around. There’s also a game area complete with cornhole, mini-golf, and ping pong.
If you have little ones, there’s something for them at Aqua Adventures too. The Kid Zone is the perfect place for them to enjoy the rest of their summer- it has a splash pad with 10 slides and sand perfect for playing in and building sandcastles.
Food and drink are also available at Aqua Adventures- just be aware that they don’t serve alcohol on Sundays if you are interested in having some at your beach day.

Overall, I absolutely love Land of Illusion and the Aqua Adventure park. It’s a really great mix of fun and relaxation.
