Weather/What to Know When Packing For London

Obviously, knowing what the weather will be like when you’re in London is the first thing you need to know when planning your outfits. I was going to be there in early April and the weather was predicted to be anywhere from 40 to 60 degrees (fahrenheit). I got very lucky as it was uncharacteristically sunny on all three days in which I was there, but I still packed a good rain jacket and waterproof shoes just in case. Definitely plan accordingly! Now, let’s get into the fun part- the outfits to wear in London!

London Lookbook Outfit #1:

My first day in London was incredible– this was my first time visiting the city I’d dreamed of for nearly a decade. After getting zero sleep on the plane, I was going on a full day without sleep. But that did not stop me from immediately heading out to explore! The day called for something comfy yet fashionable, and also warm to keep me protected from the slight chill in the air. I went with a cozy, chic striped sweater (no, these will never go out of style!). I added a pair of black trousers and topped it off with a London staple: a trench coat. As for shoes, I opted for matching sneakers.

After exploring the beautiful city for a bit, I headed back to my hotel to get ready for dinner. It was still chilly, but not as bad as it was in the morning hours when I arrived. I didn’t completely change my outfit- I just swapped out my top because the striped sweater was becoming a bit too warm (and hey, an outfit change never hurt anyone!). I exchanged the sweater for a cream-colored bodysuit from Abercrombie & Fitch for a similar but new look.

If I had to choose a favorite London look? It’d be this one! I had a lot planned for the day and wanted to wear something both cute, functional, and just a bit  posh considering it’s London.  I wore this navy corset-style top with a matching belted skirt. It was a bit chilly out, so I added some tights and a trench to keep me warm. I wore the same white sneakers and the day before. I wore this outfit on a walking tour of the city, to the Eye and also to Afternoon Tea on the Thames (here’s the details on this experience!). I’m honestly obsessed with this look- I feel like it definitely screams London.

London Lookbook Outfit #4:

This is unfortunately the last outfit as I was only in London for 3 days… sigh. But the good news is that it’s a classic, easy look to pull together look perfect for your outfit inspiration for London Pinterest Board. Or really any type of outfit inspo really. I started with a black, square-neck bodysuit and added a pair of light-wash straight jeans and a pair of platform black sandals. To top it off? A classic black blazer that dresses it up just the right amount. It was my last day in London and I wanted a casual, cute outfit for doing the last of my exploring in. We walked around quite a bit, exploring places like Notting Hill, Camden Market, and Kensington Palace and Hyde Park.
